mardi gras means something different to everyone. a state holiday, a day to party, a modern piece of history, a week of parades, a family event. I guess you could say that how you imagine mardi gras is most likely a reflection of your background in some way or another. What do you see it as?

there's a parade dedicated to dogs! known as
Krewe of Barkus.

The best way to get parade goods is be closer to the end. Take advantage of the float
riders throwing all their left over bags they conserved before
the end of the parade!

Mardi Gas is only one day, not a season. The season is carnival. traditionally mardi gras
is the last Tuesday before Ash Wednesday ushers in 40 days of best behavior, and
“Carnival” is the season that begins on the Feast of Epiphany.

Mardi gras isn't just for the party, the parades are actually family oriented,
